Texas is infested with crazy ants! This invasive species travel in large numbers, eat just about anything, and cause a great annoyance. Crazy ants are capable of a small bite that hurts for a minute but quickly fades. These little guys are even known for causing electrical equipment failure due to large numbers of them invading the equipment!
Crazy ants are scary because of the overwhelming numbers they produce. They produce in such high numbers that their colonies are referred to as “Super Colonies.”Â
What We Do
A good bit about crazy ant control is discovering their trails. We are not always able to treat the home colony directly, because the colony may be located in an area that is not on the treatment site. Most crazy ant colonies are established near water, the workers can travel miles during the day to seek food for the colony.
Once we find where they are pathing, we will use a nonrepellent insecticide to spray along their path and can also use some baits to help with control as well. What You Can Do
Remove all unnecessary objects that can be used as shelters in your yard, such as:

- Rocks
- Leaves
- Toys
Adjusting your landscape moisture can help keep crazy ants away since they are attracted to humid & wet conditions. You can do this by:
- Reducing the amount of water
- Repair leaks
- Improve drainage
